Nominator's project description
| Professor Schuldiner is an internationally recognized expert on the mechanisms of neuronal remodelling during development of the nervous system. Professor Schuldiner has made a number of seminal contributions, for instance by discovering specialized cellular programs of neurite dismantling and on development regrowth of neuronal processes. In these efforts, Professor Schuldiner utilizes a powerful combination of fly genetics and molecular techniques. During his visit in Germany, Professor Schuldiner intends to use optical techniques to develop new paradigms of nerve cell trauma in flies and identify the resulting regrowth programs. |
