Nominator's project description

Professor Baik is an international expert in the investigation of catalytic mechanisms of organometallic reactions, where he has made important contributions to various Carbon–hydrogen activation reactions. For example, he recently discovered an lridium-catalyst that can catalytically borylate methane with unprecedented efficiency. During his stay in Germany, Professor Baik will study the complexation of iron by receptor molecules by means of theoretical calculations and modelling.
