Nominator's project description
Professor Poirazi is well known internationally for her outstanding research in computational modeling of neurons and neural circuits, focusing on dendritic processing. She has made important contributions to our understanding of how dendrites contribute to neuronal computations and circuit functions in various brain areas. Professor Poirazi combines a variety of mathematical and computational approaches with intuitive experimental insight. During her stay in Germany, she intends to elaborate on how dendrites, and the regulation of their activity by other neurons, can contribute to learning. |
