Nominator's project description
Professor Wittkopp is a world-renowned evolutionary geneticist. She has made seminal contributions to our understanding of how life evolves by revealing molecular, genetic and developmental mechanisms by which phenotypes change. She integrates tools from developmental biology, molecular evolution, population genetics, bioinformatics and genomics. This integrative strategy has allowed her to tackle important yet difficult questions in evolutionary biology. During her stay in Germany, she will explore single cell genomic approaches. |
