Nominator's project description

Professor Xu is well known internationally for his outstanding research in the Chemistry of Advanced Functional Materials for Energy storage and conversion. He has made significant contributions to the development of novel catalysts for hydrogen management. Professor Xu designed nanostructured and porous materials as hydrogen evolution catalysts and for electrical energy storage applications, both important technologies for the “Energiewende”. During his stay in Germany, he intends to develop new materials concepts for future hydrogen and battery technologies.
