Nominator's project description
| Professor Hornekær has made important contributions in the chemistry and physics of graphitic surfaces. She has been able to show how to convert graphene to a 2D semiconductor with patterned surface hydrogenation, and to demonstrate that polyaromatic hydrocarbons are capable catalysts to convert H-atoms to H2-molecules in the interstellar medium by forming super-hydrogenated polyaromatic hydrocarbons. In Göttingen Professor Hornekær will focus on the fundamentals of graphene surface chemistry |
