Nominator's project description
| Professor Olli Ikkala is internationally well known for the production of functional materials based on hierarchical self-assemblies and biomimetics of block polymers, surfactants and colloids. Functionalities comprise mechanical properties, photonic properties, charge transport, and ferrofluids. More recently, he became interested in out-of-equilibrium materials and materials that obey the algorithmically classical Pavlovian conditioning. During his stay in Germany he will apply this experience for layered colloidal assemblies. |
