Nominator's project description

Professor Lee is a leading figure in evolutionary and molecular ecotoxicology. His pioneering research on the physiological and molecular modes of action of novel environmental contaminants in marine sentinel organisms has significantly expanded the understanding of the effects of chemical and abiotic stressors on the fitness of organisms and the health of ecosystems. In Germany, he will investigate the combined effects of pollutants, temperature and oxygen deficiency to gain mechanistic insights into multiple stressor effects on coastal ecosystems.
