Nominator's project description
Professor Lenz has made major contributions to the physics of living cells. He has developed theoretical models to understand the actin cytoskeleton and validated them through collaborations with experimental groups. His work on protein-membrane interactions sheds new light on molecular mechanisms driving membrane deformation. During his stay in Germany, he studies generic physical principles underlying the self-assembly of mechanically frustrated structures with potential applications in medicine and biotechnology. |
