Nominator's project description

Professor Wang is a world-leading researcher in multiple areas of statistics. She has made seminal contributions to nonparametric maximum likelihood theory and survival analysis. Her pioneering work in the field of functional data analysis is particularly well-known. A major breakthrough has been the development of a widely used methodology for analyzing sparsely and irregularly measured functional data contaminated by noise. During her research stay in Germany, she will continue her work on functional regression based on RKHS approaches.
