Nominator's project description

Professor Beroza is an international leader in Earth sciences, providing seminal contributions focusing on seismology and the physics of earthquakes. His work includes important studies on the dynamics of earthquake ruptures and addresses development and implementation of machine learning towards an improved analysis of seismic signals. In Germany, he intends to continue his seminal work on earthquake nucleation, rupture propagation and the analysis of induced seismicity.
