Nominator's project description
| Professor Shao-Horn is world-renowned for her research on alternative energy production and energy storage, specifically in the areas of lithium-ion batteries, metal-air batteries, high- and low-temperature fuel cells, and electrolysis. Her research on model surfaces and industrially-relevant high surface area materials has yielded fundamental new insights into reaction mechanisms at interfaces in different materials classes. During her research stay in Germany, she will investigate solvation environments at electrified interfaces and their influence on local properties such as the dielectric constant and the rates of charge transfer. |
