Nominator's project description

Prof. Kessler received his PhD from the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and has been a professor of sociology at the Universidad Nacional de la Plata since 2010. His work has been honored several times, most recently in 2019 when he received the rank of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques from the French government. His work focuses on social structure analysis and violence. During his research stay in Germany, he is working on two complementary projects: the impact of the pandemic on inequality and social cohesion in Latin America as well as political polarization in that region.
