Nominator's project description

Professor Ellison is a well-known community ecologist, recognized for his contributions to understanding ecosystem formation and food-web processes, particularly in tropical and temperate forests. His research combines diligent field experiments and statistical tools, which has led to the recognition of "foundation species" in terrestrial ecology. During his stay in Germany, Professor Ellison will work on solidifying and extending the toolbox of statistical ecology by means of computer simulations.
