Nominator's project description

Professor Char is one of the internationally acknowledged and leading pioneers in the field of oxide electronics and photonics. His research in the area of oxide hetero-epitaxy and heterostructures has been at the forefront of global research and development activities. His achievements include the invention of interface engineered Josephson Junctions, the discovery of a Two-dimensional electron gas at the interface of Barium stannate [BaSnO3] and Lanthanum Indium Trioxide [LaInO3], as well as high mobility field effect transistors based on Barium stannate, which he will continue to focus his research on during his stay in Germany.
