Nominator's project description

Professor Pereira is an internationally renowned expert for the mathematical theory of dynamical systems. He has a broad expertise in fundamental mathematical theory combining it also with computational and data driven approaches. Along with his contributions to mathematics, his work has many applications to real-world problems. During his stay he will work on new approaches to emergent collective behaviour in large coupled systems, resulting from an interplay of nonlinearity, diversity, and complex coupling structures.
