Nominator's project description

Professor Schleicher is a highly recognized researcher working on theoretical and computational astrophysics. His scientific interests range from the formation of the first supermassive black holes in the Universe, the origin of cosmic magnetic fields, and high-redshift structure formation to the formation of stars and their planetary systems and their long-term dynamical evolution in Galaxies today. In Germany, he will continue and intensify his investigation of the formation of very massive objects via collisions and accretion in extreme environments.
