Nominator's project description

Professor Ma is one of the world’s leading mathematicians in the field of global analysis on manifolds and complex geometry. He has made a substantial impact on the advancement of these fields and enjoys a well-deserved international reputation. During his stay in Germany, he intends to develop more applications of the theory of Toeplitz operators in geometry and topology and to study the asymptotic of analytic torsion on complete manifolds, particularly complete local symmetric spaces of finite volume and in the volume conjecture for the Jones polynomials.
