Nominator's project description

Professor Liu is a leader in the application of innovative methods in stable isotope geochemistry to study fundamental processes of the earth. She has done pioneer work in developing and applying modern isotope ratio systems to investigate chemical weathering and its influence on continental evolution. During her stay in Germany, she will measure the stable isotope composition of certain metals to reconstruct the interplay between reactions at earth’s surface and climate change in the geologic past.
