Nominator's project description
| Professor Good is known internationally for his work on the documentation and comparative linguistics of African languages and his studies of cross-linguistic variation. He has made important contributions to the methodology of documentary linguistics and to the understanding of the language dynamics of highly multilingual societies in rural African settings. During his stay in Germany, he will explore how the low-level dynamics of such societies can yield insights into the historical development of large-scale linguistic patterns in Africa. |
