Nominator's project description
| Dr. Ferrante is internationally recognised for his contributions to AI and computer vision for biomedical image analysis, and for his influential leadership in advancing AI research and capacity in Latin America. His work has contributed to core medical imaging areas, from image registration and segmentation to robust and fair AI systems for clinical decision support. Dr. Ferrante’s pioneering work on bias in medical image classifiers has helped establish the field of fairness of AI in medical imaging. During his stay in Germany, he will continue his research on devising more reliable and fairer machine-learning models for medical imaging. |
