Nominator's project description
| Professor Attfield is an internationally recognized materials scientist. He has transformed the field of inorganic materials research by linking crystal structure directly to electronic, magnetic, and energy-related properties. His high-pressure synthesis has yielded striking discoveries – from unusual magnetoresistive effects to electronic phase separation – and his structural analysis tool PIEFACE is now standard in the field. During his stay in Germany, he intends to pursue further research in materials chemistry under high-pressure conditions. |
