Nominator's project description

Professor Chertkov is internationally recognized for his achievements in applied mathematics for physical sciences, engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI). His research addresses foundational challenges in mathematics, statistics, machine learning and AI, particularly as they apply to and are inspired by physical systems like fluid mechanics. During his stay in Germany, he will develop generative AI for physical sciences, targeting Lagrangian turbulence and Earth-system models.
