Nominator's project description
| Professor Metrangolo is a world-leading expert in the field of supramolecular chemistry. He is internationally renowned for his studies of halogen bonding and its application in materials science, biomolecular recognition, and drug design, specifically in the development of fluorinated nanostructured materials. His latest research interests also include nanomedicine, specifically the design and synthesis of theranostic materials suitable for diagnostic 19F magnetic resonance imaging. In Germany, he will work on small molecules and selectively fluorinated derivatives as well as on macro- and biomacromolecules, with spinout in catalysis, drug delivery and diagnostics. |
