Nominator's project description
| Professor Ranganathan is a world-leading expert on international law and the governance of oceans in particular. She has significantly broadened the ways to study law at the intersection of doctrine, power and knowledge formation – and teases out law’s distinctiveness from a variety of perspectives and in often unusual sites. In Germany, she will continue to focus on the law of oceans but turn from substance to process, from debates about legal concepts to the question of whose voices and ideas are heard (and why or why not). |
