Nominator's project description
| Professor Bassem Hassan is an internationally leading neuroscientist well known for his work on brain development. He has made major contributions to understand the roles and limitations of genes for nervous system development and behaviour. Professor Hassan's work has demonstrated that stochastic processes are essential to neuronal wiring and ensure behavioural individuality. In Germany, he will focus on the role of the genetic encoding of time for the stereotypy and variability of brains. |
