Information in the context of the coronavirus pandemic:
The Foundation is accepting applications for this sponsorship measure again after a temporary pause due to lockdowns and travel restrictions. However, we will only process your application once the travel regulations for your respective home country or country of residence allow you to actually undertake the planned stay. We therefore kindly request to wait with your applications until the respective restrictions have been lifted. We ask for your understanding.

Alumni may apply for conference allowances to help them attend academic conferences in Germany if they play an active part in these conferences, for example by delivering lectures/posters etc. They are usually eligible to apply for conference allowances at least three years after they have completed their first research stay and returned abroad.
Once all the relevant documents have been received, processing takes about a month. Retrospective approval is not possible. Travel expenses cannot be paid.
Applications should include the following documents:
- completed application form;
- list of publications during the last five years;
- a conference programme, indicating participation fees and duration of the conference;
- confirmation of acceptance of lecture (such as posters etc.);
- details of financial contributions from third parties, if applicable.

If you are a Humboldtian and would like to submit an application, please log in first. You will be given access to an online form which has been partially filled in with your personal details. You can then complete and submit this form. In your personal area "My Humboldt" you can access and continue processing saved online applications at any time.
