Nominator's project description
| Professor William A. Kinderman is a leading figure in Beethoven and Wagner scholarship, one of the most productive Beethoven scholars of our time. He has produced a substantial number of articles and books including a monograph on the genesis of the Diabelli Variations and a general book on Beethoven. Most recently he has undertaken the daunting task of starting the first series of publications of Beethoven sketchbooks ever produced in the United States. Kinderman's prodigious output is impressive and alongside his research and writing he is also a pianist of recital caliber who can and does play public concerts. |
