| Dr. Ransom is the undisputed world authority on the topic of central nervous system white matter injury which is an important issue for stroke research. His discoveries reveales in the field of glial cell research established the important role of this certain cell types for brain function and dysfunction. He presently occupies the prestigious Warren and Jermaine Magnuson Endowed Chair for Medicine in Neurosciences at the University of Washington and has established one of the best departments of neurology in the United States. |
