Nominator's project description

Professor Samengo is internationally renowned for her contributions to uncovering principles of computation in nervous systems. She has developed mathematical models that bridge the gap between physiological descriptions of sensory perception and the resulting subjective experience. Lately she has focused on colour perception, including optical illusions. During her stay in Germany, she plans to investigate how the biophysical properties of visual neurons shape colour perception.
