Nominator's project description

Prof. Alessandro De Luca is leading the Robotics Laboratory at the University of Roma "La Sapienza". He is one of the most active and internationally acknowledged researchers in the areas of flexible robots control, kinematically redundant manipulators, and underactuated robots. More specific, he has significantly contributed to the field of nonlinear control regarding dynamic state feedback linearization. With the award, he will try to enforce DLR's efforts in the area of advanced control for space and service robots, in particular: - cartesian impedance control in kinematically redundant arms with joint elasticity - simultaneous control of base and arm configuration of nonholonomic mobile manipulators
