Nominator's project description
| Jürgen Margraf is considered to be a leading expert in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy with a particular focus on the treatment of anxiety disorders. He advocates short forms of treatment, already evaluated for their efficacy, a position he championed as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board on Psychotherapy advising the Federal government. His most recent work concentrates on identifying conditions for good mental health in order to prevent disease. At Bochum University Margraf is expected to drive forward the research focus area of clinical psychology, which has been developed over the last few years, and head the projected new Mental Health Research and Treatment Centre. |
