Alexander von Humboldt Professorship 2009

Norbert Langer

Norbert Langer has been one of the world’s leading experts in the field of theoretical astrophysics for more than two decades.

  • Nominating University: Bonn University

Norbert Langer investigates the development of high mass stars up to the point when they explode as supernovae. His expertise will fill a gap in astronomy in Bonn, complementing the current scientific portfolio. Much is also expected from collaboration planned with the neighbouring Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy.
