Connecting through exchange: The DAAD & Humboldt Community

With the DAAD & Humboldt Community, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Alexander von Humboldt Foundation have created a joint digital platform for their international networks. The Community brings together currently and formerly sponsored individuals, partners, funders and friends of both organisations with the aim of strengthening worldwide exchange and networking people who feel an affinity with Germany and international collaboration.

Members can receive relevant information and systematically search for people who are located in their region or share similar interests with them. There are numerous possibilities for exchange and active participation: Users can receive further training on career topics, build mentoring relationships, and present projects and their research at virtual events. These offerings are supplemented by relevant invitations to tender and job advertisements. 

Members receive information about the Foundation in Humboldt Life, the exclusive area for the Humboldt Network. This is also where the Women Forward mentoring programme for women in the Humboldt Network has been located since 2024.

The platform is part of the close cooperation between DAAD and the Humboldt Foundation which both actively promote global academic networks. Through their programmes, they support students, researchers and alumni around the world.
