How are people around the world dealing with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic? To answer this question, the Humboldt Professor Anke Hoeffler and her colleagues Tilman Brück from the International Security and Development Center in Berlin and Patricia Justino from the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research in Helsinki, Finland, spent the six months since March 2020 gathering data on how people are dealing with this crisis. Nearly 12,000 people from more than 130 countries have completed the Life with Corona questionnaire. The international research group recently presented its initial findings.

“Bonds of Trust - Shaping the Sino-German Research Network of the Future” is the theme of the Humboldt Colloquium being held in Beijing from 24 to 26 October. The conference will be attended by some 240 researchers from the Humboldt Foundation’s network plus guests from research institutes and research funding bodies.
