Subsidy towards research costs for good cooperation

As an academic host you receive a lump sum towards research costs that helps you to create good working conditions for your cooperation with your guest.

Hosts provide international researchers with a research position and work together with them in their research groups. In order to create good conditions for fruitful cooperation, we offer a subsidy towards research costs.

What is covered by the subsidy towards research costs?

You and your research institution receive a lump sum of €800 per month (life sciences, natural and engineering sciences) or €500 (humanities and social sciences) which can be used to cover costs that are incurred during the research stay and are related to the guest researcher’s project.

What can be financed from the subsidy towards research costs?

For example, you can use the subsidy towards research costs to finance equipment, laboratory materials, computers, literature and software as well as for auxiliary help and administrative costs. Guest researchers’ travel, lecturers, and excursions may also be paid from this subsidy. Feel free to involve your guest researcher in how you use the subsidy towards research costs!

How is the subsidy paid?

When the fellowship is awarded, hosts received a personalised link to the “MyHumboldt” online portal. There you will find a form with which you personally can apply for the subsidy towards research costs.

Visit here for further information on the subsidy towards research costs.
