Hint

Information in the context of the coronavirus pandemic:

The Foundation is accepting applications for this sponsorship measure again after a temporary pause due to lockdowns and travel restrictions. However, we will only process your application once the travel regulations for your respective home country or country of residence allow you to actually undertake the planned stay. We therefore kindly request to wait with your applications until the respective restrictions have been lifted. This also applies to stays planned for 2021. We ask for your understanding.

For additional information on frequently asked questions in the context of the pandemic please visit our FAQ on this subject.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation can support short visits by members of the Humboldt Network abroad to the institutes of Feodor Lynen, JSPS and MOST (Taiwan) alumni in Germany for periods of up to two weeks. On application, a per diem allowance will be paid to the research fellows issuing the invitation to be passed on to the members of the Humboldt Network. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed. The visit by members of the Humboldt Network should be used for lectures and academic contacts at the Feodor Lynen, JSPS and MOST (Taiwan) research fellows’ institutes and, if appropriate, at other institutes in Germany.

The following documents should be included in an online application for sponsorship for a short visit by a member of the Humboldt Network:

  • short description of the activities planned,
  • acceptance of the member of the Humboldt Network who is being invited.
