International Humboldt New Mobility Conference

International researchers from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s network of excellence will discuss tomorrow’s forms of mobility at a digital conference being held from 13-14 September.

In the face of war: International conference discussed issues pertaining to scientific freedom

Experts and researchers who have fled their country have gathered at the Philipp Schwartz and Inspireurope Stakeholder Forum that was held on 10 and 11 May in Berlin and online. The event has jointly been organised by the Humboldt Foundation’s Philipp Schwartz Initiative and the InSPIREurope project. In addition to examining the situation of researchers from Ukraine and Afghanistan, the conference focussed on the specific working conditions of persecuted researchers and how researchers in exile enrich scientific communities.

Humboldtian receives Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize

The American microbiologist Bonnie L. Bassler is being honoured for her research on communication between bacteria. Bassler, the 2016 Max Planck-Humboldt Research Award winner, shares the prize with the American microbiologist Michael R. Silverman.
