Several regional network meetings (formerly introductory meetings) are held annually for research fellows newly arrived in Germany (without their families). These meetings take place in German university cities. The aim is
- to familiarise research fellows with the Humboldt Foundation and various assistance schemes offered;
- to inform about German university institutions and the university system, also in comparison with higher education systems outside Germany;
- to offer an opportunity to meet colleagues and members of the Humboldt Foundation's staff; and
- to give an insight into conditions in Germany in discussions within groups arranged according to countries and disciplines.
Network Meetings take place in the spring and fall for German and foreign research fellows of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
