In the second round of the Henriette Herz Scouting Programme, a further 23 scouts, including 10 female researchers, were chosen to recruit talented individuals for the Humboldt Network. A total of 99 applications from 47 institutions were submitted. The selections made during this round included two scouts each from Universität Hamburg, LMU Munich and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
The Nobel Prize in chemistry goes to Humboldtian Emmanuelle Charpentier.
This year’s prize is also being awarded in equal parts to Moungi G. Bawendi, who serves as a host in the Humboldt Network, and Louis E. Brus.
