The CAPES-Humboldt Research Fellowship enables postdocs and experienced Brazilian researchers to conduct research projects in Germany. Now, the Foundation’s cooperation with CAPES – Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – has been reinforced. In the presence of representatives of the Humboldt Foundation, CAPES President Denise Pires de Carvalho signed an addendum to the existing agreement in Brasília at the end of April.

This confirms the continuation of collaboration for a further three selection rounds; the duration has been extended to the end of 2030. The president emphasised the high esteem in which the collaboration is held by all sides. Various procedures of the selection process have already been adopted as best practice for other sponsorship programmes.

The CAPES-Humboldt Research Fellowship – new application round from 2 June

Since the collaboration was established in 2013, more than 280 postdocs and experienced researchers from Brazil have received CAPES Fellowships for a research stay in Germany. Two selection rounds take place annually. The next application round opens on 2 June and closes on 28 November.
