Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| In the past twenty years, through a number of path-breaking publications, Professor Breen has brought a new intellectual vigour combined with new methodological approaches to the study of American Colonial History. For German historians in the field of Ealy Modern History it is most exciting that he is going to add a comparative dimension to his research on the culture of rights in the 18th century. The Humboldt Foundation deserves the highest praise for her decision to award the Humboldt Award to Timothy Breen. |
