Professor Okay is one of the leading scientists in the field of polymeric soft matter. His research activities focus on the structure - property relations in soft polymeric materials and polymer gels. His numerous contributions range from fundamental work on gels with self-healing properties up to the development of reusable sorbent materials for the clean-up of oil spillage. During his stay at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin he will use the neutron beamlines and other facilities to study self-healing materials in detail.
