| Prof. Dr. Rolando Víctor Rivera Pomar from the National University of Northwestern Buenos Aires, Argentina Prof. Rivera Pomar is an internationally recognized biochemist of high reputation for his seminal studies in insect developmental genetics and protein biosynthesis leading to the identification of novel mechanisms for translational regulation. Currently, Prof. Rivera Pomar performs successful research on the blood-sucking bug, Rhodnius prolixus, a vector of Chagas disease in Argentina. In Germany, Prof. Rivera Pomar will carry out a comparative genome-wide search for novel regulatory peptides governing developmental processes in a series of diverse insect orders. Prof. Dr. Rolando Victor Rivera Pomar is hosted by Professor Dr. Ernst A. Wimmer at the Georg-August-University Göttingen. |
