Professor Mansour Shayegan has gained his acclaimed international scientific reputation for the synthesis of novel semiconductor structures, and studies of new electronic states induced by strong electron-electron interaction in them. The states include special fractional quantum Hall liquids and Wigner solid states in structures such as very dilute two-dimensional electron or hole systems, bilayer systems with interlayer interactions and parabolic quantum wells.
