Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Takayoshi Kobayashi from the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo is internationally well known for his outstanding research in the development of ultrashort pulse lasers and in the investigation of ultrafast processes in molecules. Using a parametric amplifier with a non-collinear configuration, his group could generate the shortest pulses in the visible spectral range (4.0 fs) at that time. He established transition state spectroscopy using vibrational real-time spectroscopy. Professor Kobayashi is hosted by Professor Krausz at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching and by Professor Elsaesser at Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics in Berlin
