Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Prof. Hoyt Tillman is one of the foremost sinologists specializing in the interlectual history of the eleventh to the thirteenth century. This period was a crucial turning-point in the development of Chinese thought. Tillmans book on the ascendancy of the Confucian movement of that time has not only been a brilliant challenge to many previous representations of this topic but is at the same time an extremely important contribution for understanding the contemporary discussion on Asian values. While in Germany Prof. Tillman will focus with his colleagues on the immediate successors of those Confucian scholars on whom he has published extensively already. |
