Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Bodenhausen's work has redefined one of the most relevant domains of psychological research - stereotyping and prejudice. Over the last 15 years, he has continued to change the way psychologists think about the function of stereotypes. In establishing that the use of stereotypes saves cognitive resources and depends on affective influences, he has sparked a novel and prolific line of research in social psychology. His research project at the University of Würzburg will continue this seminal work by examining the conditions that promote the use of different category memberships such as ethnicity or gender as a basis of stereotyping.
