Dr. Pisarski has made seminal contributions to the investigation of gauge theories at non-vanishing temperatures and densities. Among his foremost achievements is the development of gauge-invariant resummation scheme to show the positivity of the gluon damping rate in hot quark-gluon plasma. He has also made important contributions to clarify the nature of the transition to the quark-gluon plasma in strongly interacting matter. He is currently working on a theory for this transition exploiting an analogy to spin systems in statistical mechanics.
