| Professor Gilmore is awarded the Humboldt Award for his achievements in the analysis of microbial pathogens. He was one of the first scientists who described enterococci as infectious agents with strong impact on nosocomial infections. He analyzed the disease-related mechanisms of these particular pathogens and was able to set up strategies to combat these infectious agents. Thus, Professor Gilmore belongs to the leading scientists worldwide working on the analysis of nosocomial infectious agents. |
